2024 Dormitory Plans

DORMITORY RESERVATIONS MUST BE BOOKED BY MAY 15.

 

Types of Accommodations

  • A Family Room is for 2 people. Family Rooms share a bathroom located between the rooms with another Family Room.

  • A Family Suite is for 3-4 people. Suites consist of two Family Rooms that share one bathroom located between the rooms.

  • A Teacher Room is for Teacher Workshop Participants only. Teacher Rooms share a bathroom with up to 3 other participants.

Each room comes with the following per bed: a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, a pillow, a pillow cover, two bath towels, and one hand towel.

Students under the age of 18 must be supervised at all times. Students 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Teenagers 13 years and older (as of the first day of institute), who will be staying on campus but will not be accompanied by a parent, must stay in the Teen Dorm to be supervised by the Teen Dorm monitor. A Family Suite (3-4 people) is made up of two Family Rooms. Family Rooms (2 people maximum) share a bathroom with another Family Room.

Teacher Rooms (1 person) share a bathroom with up to 3 other Teacher Workshop Participants.

 

About the Dormitories at Pitzer College

The dormitory at Pitzer College was built in 2012 and is fully air conditioned. The dormitory has a large demonstration kitchen, numerous study rooms and lounges are spread throughout the complex, along with decks, balconies and other outdoor spaces for informal gathering. Linens are provided (pillow with case, blanket, 2 bed sheets, bath towel, hand towel, face towel, one plastic cup and bar of bath soap). Feel free to bring an extra blanket if you tend to be cold - extra blankets will not be available on site.)

  • No pets are allowed in the residence halls.

  • Other things you may wish to bring:

    • A blanket, Pitzer only provides one flat sheet.

    • An extra pillow, Pitzer only provides one per bed.

    • A sports ball

    • Flip-flops

    • Swim Suit

    • Bathrobe

    • Alarm clock

    • Flashlight

    • Clothes hangers

 

Teen Dorm

TEEN DORMITORY RESERVATIONS MUST BE BOOKED BY MAY 15.

 

Teenagers 13 years and older (as of the first day of institute), who will be staying on campus but will not be accompanied by a parent, must stay in the Teen Dorm to be supervised by the Teen Dorm monitor. Teens are supervised by the Teen Dorm Monitor 24/7—eating meals together, attending concerts together and enjoying down time together.

The cost of the Teen Dorm includes 5 nights in the dorm with a roommate in a Double Room (Sunday-Thursday), 5 breakfasts (Monday-Friday), 5 lunches (Monday-Friday) and 5 dinners (Sunday-Thursday). During dorm registration you can make roommate requests.

If your student is planning on boarding in the Teen Dorm but is not in the Young Artist program (Either Foundational or PREP) please send a note to the director.

Teen Dorm students will stay in a Double Room with a roommate and share a bathroom with another Double Room.

 

Meal Plans

ALL MEALS MUST BE PURCHASED BY MAY 15.

 

McConnell Dining Hall on Pitzer College’s campus can accommodate any special dietary requests. You can make requests during registration.

Meal Times:

  • Breakfast 8:00-9:00am

  • Lunch 12:00-1:00pm

  • Dinner 5:30-6:30pm

You must purchase a meal plan in order to eat meals on campus. Walk-in meals are NOT available.

Parking

The parking lot at Pitzer College is free for those staying in the dorm and commuting. EV stations are not available for electric vehicles.
